Our Services 

At Martin Wilkinson we are extremely proud of our exceptional customer service, and we believe this level cannot be maintained without our high standards of jewellery knowledge and extra services. Please read on below for a comprehensive list of the extra services we offer. 

Jewellery Repairs 

We regularly perform a wide array of repairs on customers jewellery- after a brief consultation with a customer, our staff are able to advise and indicate on the repairs necessary to have your beloved pieces back to its former glory and able to be worn & loved without further worry.

Engraving 

We offer engraving by hand and by machine, however, engraving is limited to items that are sold by us. This is to minimise risk to the customers belongings, as if on the very slight chance anything were to go wrong then we would be able to replace the item and redo the work. 

We also offer engraving to signet rings sold by us, including seal and crest engraving. 

 

Bespoke 

As traditional jewellers, the majority of our rings are made to order, meaning our customers will have a ring that has been made especially for them. On occasion, our customers may require a more specific design or shape to go with other rings or jewellery and to cater to these requirements we work with several UK workshops as well as our own Goldsmith to make bespoke jewellery to fit each client's specific needs. Usually this would be done by beginning with a consultation with one of our expert advisors, we would then liaise with the workshop we think best suited to the requirements and have designs created- these can be either hand drawn, or computer generated (CAD/CAM), once approved or adjusted by our client we would then work to have a wax sample made and tried on to make sure we are all happy with the dimensions and the fit of the item (again, alterations can be made at this stage), once approved we would have the piece of jewellery made for the client. 

An advantage to working this way is that we are not limited to the stock we have and are able to work with customers to bring their ideas to life, our knowledgeable staff are able to advise on designs and their practicality. Making jewellery independently this way also means we are also able to use the customers own materials and recycle/upcycle old gold & stones. Making what once was a sentimental piece sat in a drawer, an extremely personal and loved item of jewellery that will be worn day after day.

 

Watches 

We are able to replace and adjust watch straps and replace batteries in most watches as well as replacement capacitors in Citizen Eco-Drive watches. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer watch repairs and encourage customers to look to the NAJ (National Association of Jewellers) for guidance to a reputable watch repairer.  

This is similar for clocks, we are able to carry out some work on clocks with a Quartz (battery operated) movement but are unable to work on mechanical movements and advise consulting the NAJ for guidance.
